Solar Eclipse

Glasses Design, Promotional Photography, & Event Coverage

I designed custom solar eclipse glasses for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, created the promotional photography, and event coverage surrounding the 2024 eclipse. The project blended product design, campaign‑ready visuals, and documentary‑style photography. It ultimately reached thousands of people across central Ohio and appeared in two Columbus newspaper articles featuring my photos.

The Challenge
  • Create eclipse glasses that were safe, branded, and visually appealing

  • Produce promotional photography that felt modern, energetic, and community‑focused

  • Document the eclipse event

  • Capture authentic moments of families, kids, and community members experiencing the eclipse

  • Provide press‑ready images for local news outlets

The Approach

I designed the eclipse glasses with bold, high‑contrast graphics that aligned with the library’s brand while still feeling fun and celebratory. For promotional photography, I created a series of lifestyle‑driven images featuring a family interacting with the glasses. These images were later featured in two Columbus newspaper articles covered the availability of the solar eclipse glasses.

On the day of the eclipse, I photographed the event, capturing candid moments of excitement, curiosity, and community connection.
