New Chapter, New Home: Vermont Photographer Beginning Again

There are seasons in life that feel like a soft turning of the page. They are quiet, gentle, almost unnoticed. And then there are seasons that feel like a full‑chapter shift, the kind you can feel in your bones. This summer was one of those chapters for me.

I got married. I moved to Vermont. And everything about my creative life feels both familiar and completely new. I’m growing into my role as a Vermont photographer, shaped by this new landscape.

New To The Green Mountains

Vermont has a way of slowing you down in the best possible way. The mountains sit steady in the distance, the air feels a little softer, and the wildflowers seem to grow exactly where they’re meant to. It’s a landscape that invites you to pay attention to the small details.

As I’ve settled in, I’ve found myself reaching for my camera more often. Not to chase perfection, but to document the feeling of being here. The overcast skies, the gentle pockets of wildflowers, the way the mountains hold the horizon.

Documenting My New Beginning

Photography has always been my way of grounding myself, of noticing the world as it is. But here, it feels different. More intentional. More rooted. I’m discovering new textures, and letting this landscape shape the way I see.

There’s something special about photographing yourself in a new place, camera in hand, mountains behind you, wildflowers brushing your legs. It feels like a quiet declaration: I’m here. I’m creating. I’m beginning again.

Designing From a New Landscape

Alongside photography, my illustration and design work is shifting too. I’ve been sketching, even on my tablet, capturing ideas that feel softer, more organic, more connected to the nature around me. Vermont has a way of influencing your palette without you even realizing it: muted greens, warm neutrals, soft pinks, wildflower tones.

It’s a season of building, refining, and dreaming up new work. And I’m excited to see how this place continues to shape the art I make.

Marriage, Creativity, and the Beauty of Change

Getting married and moving states in the same season is a lot! There’s a sweetness in building a life with someone you love, and a quiet bravery in starting fresh somewhere new. It's beautiful, grounding, emotional, and transformative.

This chapter feels like a merging of all the things I care about: love, home, creativity, storytelling. And I’m grateful, deeply grateful, for the chance to grow in a place that already feels inspiring.
